Going... going... sold to the man in the Textron cap!

Columbia Aircraft Company has been sold!

The world's largest GA aircraft company has just purchased the maker of the fastest light-single on the market, the Columbia 400!

Apparently the plan is to continue operations at the Bend, Oregon plant. The Columbia line of strong, low-wing, composite aircraft will complement Cessna's new line of NGP (Next Generation Piston) high-wing aircraft.

This is big news, and I am glad to see Columbia Aircraft taken over by a company with the wherewithal to insure a strong future for the aircraft and its customers.

I thought that was just a "letter of intent"? I think the Chpt 11 court has to figure out what deal makes the most sense.

It is a letter of intent. Having said that, the bankruptcy court will decide based upon what the creditors/shareholders want.

It sounds like the company's investors were a party to this deal.

Obviously before the deal is complete, anything could happen. But it looks extremely probable that this will go through.
